Professional Experience
I graduated from the University of Otago School of Physiotherapy in 2021 and began my career as a rotational physiotherapist with the Christchurch public hospitals. In this role, I completed rotations in acute orthopaedics, older persons’ health and orthopaedic rehabilitation, general surgery, respiratory, and intensive care. Since early 2024, my focus has shifted to musculoskeletal physiotherapy in private practice. This included a two-year stint in Newcastle, Australia. Throughout this time, I’ve continued to see a wide range of people and conditions, though I have a strong interest in injuries related to endurance sports, especially running. I am now back in Christchurch and keen to share my skills with my local community. You can find me at the Physiosouth Colombo and Pioneer clinics.

Clinical Values
-
Autonomy
Helping people build autonomy over their injury management sits at the centre of my practice. I aim to give people the knowledge and skills to be adaptable and to feel in control of their unique injury experience. In practice, this looks like being able to manage flare-ups, adjust training, and make confident decisions without relying on me.
-
Communication
My job isn’t really about injuries. It’s about people. Anyone can prescribe exercises or provide manual therapy. The real value is in understanding the person behind the injury: their thoughts and beliefs, the way they move through life, and their goals. These all influence their physical presentation more than we realise.
-
Evidence Based
Clinical experience counts for a lot, but decision-making should always be guided by the highest-quality evidence available. The real skill is in tailoring that information to suit the individual sitting across from me. That means weighing the research against your goals, your lifestyle, and what’s realistic for you.
